FitFunFact Friday - 4F's

F's as in Fitness, Fun, Fact, and Friday and not the other choice 4 letter words you may be thinking of.

I have decided to start a series where I give tidbits about health every Friday to leave you with before you go into the weekend.  I will look at all aspects of Health from nutrition to workouts and all around fitness.

FitFunFact FRIDAY #1 (FFF1):

Strictly from a food consumption standpoint - to loose weight in a healthy manner, you should aim to lose 1LB a week.  This can be accomplished by cutting 500 calories / day = 3500 less than you eat in a normal week.

500 calories is like: 2 soda’s or 2 candy bars or 2 Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks - or check out this website for 25 other ways to cute 500 calories: http://www.health.com/health/gallery/0,,20454528,00.html

A Fresh Start

After a few weeks of craziness in my life, as everyone goes through at points, I am finally over the hump.  I have learned going through stressful times if you can breathe and take things one at a time you will get through it. Similarly make sure you don't skimp on the daily routines/ rituals you find comforting.

I have maintained my fitness routine as much as possible through the stress because often it is the only time I can clear my head and sort out my thoughts.  Running is a great way to pound out frustration and when you are done, feel like you are ready to tackle whatever comes your way.

I moved into a new apartment this weekend and did the heavy lifting myself - and it was a very accomplished feeling.  I am getting settled there and even cooked one of my favorite easy dishes last night  - sausage, peppers, onions and broccoli for 1 to be topped off with some birthday cake oreos for dessert.

The best advice I have if you have one of these hectic weeks is keep the things you find comforting a top priory and they will really help you manage whatever you are going through.  For me it was comfort meals, working out, and my friends.  Thank you all that have helps the last few weeks :)
